High capacity Hybrid radios (supporting TDM and Ethernet interfaces at the same time) will dominate the market for years to come, as migration toward all-IP telecommunication networks will take time, and meanwhile legacy networks have to be supported. Therefore, different derivaties such as PseudoWire Emulation or STM over Ethernet will exist before transition to carrier Ethernet. Ethernet is the most promising technology in decreasing radio costs, and there is not much alternative for market than to follow it.
You can choose hybrid Ethernet with TDM, such as n x E1/T1 or STM-1 with an option to upgrade radio to carrier Ethernet in the future. For highest capacity, 112MHz channel can be used to accommodate STM-1 or 2 x STM-1 and the rest of wayside data for Ethernet. Aggregaged data throughput can be up to 820 Mbps.
Modesat modem IP supports up to 1024QAM modulation rates, selectable channel spacings up to 112 MHz, multiplexing of 10/100/1000 Ethernet and TDM interfaces, and data rates up to 820 Mbps.
