High capacity SDH/SONET networks support N x STM-X type of data circuits, where STM-1 supports 155.52Mbps and STM-4 622 Mbps. The most demanded radio in this domain is still STM-1 with 155.52 Mbps of data throughput and dual polarized STM-1 version, which can transmit up to 311 Mbps. The rest of configurations, such as 2 x STM-1 or STM-4 are less common due to higher complexity of radio and niche application area.
Modesat offers SDH/SONET high capacity radio modem IPs to accommodate customer needs. Typical modulation rate used is 128QAM, which can accommodate 155.52 Mbps in 28 MHz channel, and 311 Mbps in 56MHz channel. Dual polarized version can go up to 622 Mbps in TDM mode only.
