Modesat Communications supported by Enterprise Estonia

 

Modesat Communications received a grant totalling 300 000 eur from Enterprise Estonia to develop its proprietary linear carrier recovery scheme and introduce it into satellite modems. The project will last for 21 months.

According to mathematical simulations performed in MatLab environment, the new system promises ca 30% increase in spectral efficiency compared to the capacities demonstrated by leading satellite modems today.

Modesat Communications is an R&D company that is working on technology that improves the throughput of communication channels while reducing the devices’ energy requirements. Besides ASI, Modesat shareholders include its CEO Tarmo Pihl and three foreign nationals. In the coming months, the company plans to hire 10 employees.
