01.01.2008 - Modesat participates in Competence Centre Program

As of 1 of November 2007 Modesat Communications entered into a cooperation with Eliko TAK, a national Competence Centre for Electronics and Communications. Eliko TAK is supported by Enterprise Estonia and RTD projects undertaken within the framework of Competence Center are co-funded by the agency.

Together with Eliko TAK, Modesat is focussing on applying its proprietary technology in packet based networks. During the period 1th of November 07 until 30th of June 08 a feasibility study and preliminary simulations will be undertaken in the area of UWB technologies. The aim is to propose novel solution, whereby signal coverage range is increased due to more efficient synchronization. Besides, possible signal fading effects will be combated to achieve the simultaneous operations of multitude of UWB sensors in sensor network without facing interference.

The budget for the first phase of the project is estimated to 100 000 euros, of which 65% is co-funded by Enterprise Estonia.
