Wireless Gigabit Ethernet modem
| Available GbE modems have analogue design due to difficulties implementing digital signal reception at GHz bandwidths. Modesat offers a fully digital GbE modem, capable of signal recovery at high bandwidth due to PilotSync™ technology. Our modem operates in a 400 MHz channel and uses 16QAM modulation on a low cost FPGA. Features • IF sub-sampling or I/Q baseband interface; • Variable ADC width support; • Single external clock source required; • Single external analogue loop for AGC; • Fully digital and automatic frequency recovery - no VCXO or AFC required; • Single external analogue loop for automatic timing recovery – 1 external VCXO required. PWM or DAC control; • Fully digital matched channel filter for robust performance in the presence of ACI; • Linear demodulator algorithm ensures rapid convergence of AGC, PLL and equalizer sub-systems; • 16QAM support • Number of synthesis options to optimise speed (and therefore symbol rate) vs. area; • Software programmable symbol demapping; • Implementation loss of <0.5dB.
